   For Bachelor Degree Programs  
 
WHO CAN APPLY

An applicant for admission to any B.Sc. Degree Program in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, B.Sc. (Honors) Computer Science and Bachelor of Business Administration must fulfill the following requirements;
 

General
1) Test

a) UET Combined Entry Test:

Applicants should have appeared in the entry test arranged by UET for that particular academic session in which he seeks admission.

b) Entrance test [SAT or IB&M (UET Lahore) admission test] for BBA only.

 2) Domicile Certificate:

Applicant should be a bonafide resident of the area from where he seeks admission. (Domicile certificate of the applicant is acceptable only). Candidates applying on Balochistant seats, the domicile certificate of the father showing the candidate as his son/daughter of less than 21 years of age.

 3) Medical Fitness:

Applicant should meet the requirements of health & eye sight prescribed in Medical Certificate. (Medical Certificate will be available to admitted candidates only)

 4) Age Restrictions:

There is no age restriction for applicants seeking admission to any Bachelor / Master Degree programs.

 5) Gender Discriminations:

Both males & females are eligible to apply against any category except category ‘J’ which is reserved for female applicants only.

Eligibility Criteria for Engineering Programs & B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science

 (a)  UET Combined Entry Test:

 Applicants should have appeared in the entry test arranged by UET for that particular academic session in which he seeks admission.

 (b)  F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering) or Equivalent

 1. Applicants should have passed the Intermediate Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics (Pre-Engineering) from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or equivalent examination recognized by UET Lahore.

 2. However, Intermediate, Examination with Physics, Mathematics, (Computer Science or Statistics) shall be acceptable only for admission in Computer Science.

 3. Applicants should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc./DAE/B.Sc. examination excluding Sports/Hafiz-e-Quran marks.

 4. He should have at least 60% adjusted admission marks determined as per formula prescribed by UET Lahore.

 
   (c)  Equivalent Examinations  
 

 

The Institute recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics of all the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

a) Intermediate (Pre-Engineering) Examination of the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir.

b) Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

c) British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

d) F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.

e) American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.

 

 
   (d)  Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE)  
 

 

1)  Applicants holding a Diploma of Associate Engineer, DAE, can apply against their reserved seats in relevant technology only. Following are the list of relevant diplomas applicable in the respective departments.

Electrical Engineering

Diploma in Electrical Technology

Diploma in Electronics Technology

Diploma in Instrument Technology

Mechanical Engineering

Diploma in Mechanical Technology

Diploma in Auto & Diesel Technology

Diploma in Refrigeration & Airconditioning Technology

 2)  Applicant should have passed DAE examination from Board of Technical Education, obtaining at least 60% marks.

 

 
   (e) Bachelor of Sciences (B. Sc.)  
 

 

Applicants should have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering / Pre-Medical with additional mathematics) examinations.

1)   For admission in B.Sc. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering & B.Sc. Computer Science, Applicants must have passed the B.Sc. examinations with Physics & Mathematics.

2)  For admission in B.Sc. Chemical Engineering;

     a) Applicants who have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering) they must have passed the B. Sc. Examination with Chemistry.

b) Applicants who have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Medical with additional Mathematics) they must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics & Chemistry.

Eligibility Criteria for BBA

(a) Entry Test

 Applicants should have appeared in the combined entry test arranged by UET Lahore or valid NAT test conducted by National Testing Services of Pakistan (NTS) for that particular academic session in which he seeks admission.

(b) Intermediate or Equivalent

 Applicants should have passed the minimum of twelve (12) years of education with first division in FA/F.Sc/I.Com/A-Level from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or equivalent examination recognized by UET Lahore.

HOW TO APPLY

Programs
An applicant can apply in the Institute for the following Bachelors Degree programs;

• B. Sc. Chemical Engineering

• B. Sc. Electrical Engineering

• B. Sc. Mechanical Engineering

• B. Sc. Civil Engineering

• B. Sc. (Honors) Computer Science

• BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)

All Degree programs are affiliated with University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore.

Application Forms:

Prospectus and application forms are available from ADMISSION OFFICE during office hours (8.00 am to 04.00 pm) at the price of Rs.1000/- or can be available by post against a Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs.1050/- in favor of NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad.

Preferences

Applicants may apply for more than one department and/or Categories (Programs & Categories are mentioned) applicable in their case, on Single Application Form for Bachelor Programs. However, for M.Sc. Chemical Engineering, separate Application Form is available with this prospectus.

Processing Fee

At once Rs.1000/- will be charged as Processing Fee included in admission dues, which is non-refundable.

Erasing & over writing

Incomplete Application Forms will be rejected & erasing / over writings on Application Form will not be accepted in any case.

Multiple Category Application

The applicants applying against the reserved seats (Categories G, H, I, J, L & M) should also apply against their respective provincial categories, otherwise application for open merit regarding provincial categories will not be considered.

Variation in Seats

The admission committee may exercise their right at any time to increase or decrease the number of seats allocated to any category and there shall be no appeal against such decision.

Unutilized Seats

Decision regarding un-utilized seats in each category shall be made by the Admission committee.

Documents Required

Following documents are required with the Application Form;

 

Documents

The eligible candidate should deposit the applicable dues as Pay order/ Demand Draft in favor of NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad alongwith his application form on time as mentioned in Dues & Fee structure of prospectus. No application form shall be accepted without the dues.

Attested photocopy of Matriculation Certificate issued by the Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education.

Attested photocopy of F. Sc. Certificate/ Detail Marks Certificate issued by the Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education.

Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Islamabad in case the applicant has equivalent examination. (IBCC office address: FBISE Building, H-8/4, Islamabad)

Attested copy of domicile certificate of the candidate must be attached with application form and submitted on/before the last date of submission of the application form, failing which the candidate shall not be eligible for admission in that particular category. However, for the candidates applying on Balochistan seats, the domicile certificate of the father showing the candidate as his son/daughter of less than 21 years of age, shall be acceptable.

4 passport size recent photographs duly attested.

Attested photocopy of B. Sc. Certificate. (If applicable)

Attested photocopy of DAE Certificate issued by the Board of Technical Education. (If applicable)

Attested photocopy of NCC/ WG Certificate. (If applicable)

Attested photocopy of Hafiz – e – Quran Certificate. Certificate must be issued from the Madrassas which are registered with Government of Pakistan or Provincial authorities. (If applicable)

The overseas candidate shall have to submit a copy of passport of his/her father and copy of work permit alongwith the application form.

Candidates seeking admission on NFC/IE&FR Employees seats shall have to fill-in the Performa (Form 1) available on IEFR website/admission office and attach it with application form.

Sports Certificate. ( If applicable)

UET Entry Test Result for current year or NAT test for BBA program valid for one year.

DETERMINATION OF MERIT

The comparative Merit of the applicants will be determined by the computer on the basis of weighted percentage marks (percentage up-to 3 decimal places) obtained by them in the following examinations/ tests.

 1)  For applicants with F.Sc. (Pre –Engineering) or equivalent as highest qualification:

Marks obtained in F. Sc. (Pre – Engineering) or equivalent including sports,  Hafiz-e-Quran & NCC/WG marks

2) For applicants with Diploma of Associate Engineer DAE as highest qualification:

 Deduction & Addition of Marks

 
 

 • NCC/ WG

If applicants have successfully completed NCC/ WG Training then twenty (20) marks will be added in F. Sc. or equivalent examination marks for merit determination provided that the applicant attach attested photocopy of the original certificate issued from Director National Cadet Corps / Women Guard

 

• Hafiz-e-Quran

If applicants are Hafiz-e-Quran then 0 to 20 marks will be added to the F. Sc. or equivalent examination marks for merit determination provided that the applicants will appear before Committee of examiners, appointed by the Director of the institute for the oral test.

 

• Sports

If applicants are sportsmen/sportswomen then 0 to 10 marks will be added to the F.Sc. or equivalent examination marks according to the following participation/ physical test criteria for merit determination provided that the applicants will appear before Sports Committee appointed by the Director of the institute.

Category Wise Merit

The total seats are distributed among different categories (as mentioned in seat break-up). The applicants for each category are grouped separately and their merit will be determined category - wise.

 

Preferences & Merit

If a seat in any Program/Category is lying vacant then it will be given automatically to the next applicant according to the merit provided the applicant mentioned it in his preference list.

 

Equal Merit

If more than one applicant has equal percentage marks for merit (up - to three decimal places) and the vacant seat is one then all the applicants will be admitted. No transfer or new entry into that Program/ Category will be considered unless the actual number of candidates already admitted falls below the number of allocated seats for that Program/ Category. However such candidates will be admitted provisionally subject to approval from the registrar of University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore. Otherwise the merit will be determined according to the following criteria; If more than one applicant has equal percentage marks for merit (up-to three decimal places) and the vacant seat is one then preference will be given on the basis of their matriculation examination marks. If, in case, they have equal percentage of marks even in matriculation examination, then preference will be given on the basis of their ages and the older will be considered as higher in merit than the younger.

 

In Case of conflict

In case of conflicts between admission rules & regulations of NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad and University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore then the rules of University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore will supersede the rules of NFC Institute of Engineering & Fertilizer Research, Faisalabad.

 

Grant of Provisional Admission

The entire provisionally selected candidates on merit basis will be informed through a letter with an acceptance/rejection form. As per eligibility on merit basis within each category, Provisional Admission may be granted to the applicant in the respective discipline of studies. Admission may be confirmed after the verification of all original documents endorsed by the issuing authority and registration of candidates by the University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, as per university rules. In case, if any discrepancy appears during entire period of studies, the admission of candidate will be cancelled along with all academics and non academic credits achieved by the student. Only refundable dues will be refunded as prescribed in this prospectus, if applicable.
