  Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. Engineering, Technology & Computer Science Programs

a) General Eligibility Requirements:

   An applicant for Admission to any of the bachelor’s degree course offered by the Institute must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. He should have earned at least 60% marks in intermediate/DAE or equivalent foreign qualification examination excluding sports and Hifz-e-Quran Marks.
  2. He should have appeared in the Entry Test arranged by the UET,Lahore for that academic session in which he seeks admission. His subjects combination in the Entry test must be the same as his Intermediate (or Equivalent) subject of study. He will be considered for admission in the prescribed discipline according to his subject combination only. This restriction does not apply to DAE qualified candidates.
  3. In case the candidate seeks admission based on BSc. Engineering Technology or equivalent degree, he should have obtained (or except to obtain) at least 60% marks, in case of annual system or CGPA of 2.5 out of 4.0, in case of semester system.
  4. He should have earned (or except to earned) at least 50% overall adjusted aggregate marks calculated according to the formula given in Merit Calculation section.
  5. He should be a bonafide resident of the area from where he seeks Admission.
  6. He should meet standards of physique and eyesight laid down in medical certificate.

b) UET Combined Entry Test

   Applicants should have appeared in the entry test arranged by UET for that particular academic session in which he seeks admission. Candidates who wish to apply under reserved quota for other than Punjab province can also appear in the entry test conducted by engineering universities of their own provinces or valid NAT test conducted by National Testing Services of Pakistan (NTS) for that particular academic session in which he seeks admission. The results of required entry test must be submitted on or before the dead line of submission of application forms for admission at NFC-IE&FR.

c) F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering) or Equivalent

   Applicants should have passed the Intermediate Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics (Pre-Engineering) from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or equivalent examination recognized by UET, Lahore.

   However, Intermediate Examination with Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science or Statistics shall be acceptable only for admission in B.Sc. Computer Science.

   Applicants should have obtained at least 60% marks in F.Sc./DAE/B.Sc. examination excluding Sports/Hifz-e-Quran or any other gracemarks.

   Applicants should have at least 50% overall adjusted admission marks excluding Sports/Hifz-e-Quran or any other grace marks computed as per UET, Lahore given formula for admission 2021.

   Applicant waiting for their results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A-level or equivalent result of Part-II with at least 60% marks is required within 15 days after declaration of intermediate results by the respective boards.

d) Equivalent Examinations

The Institute recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate Examination (Pre-Engineering) with Chemistry, Mathematics & Physics from the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

   Intermediate Examination (Pre-Engineering) from the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir;

   Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;

   British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;

   F.Sc. (Pre-Medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.

   American High School Graduation Diploma (12th Grade) or equivalent.

The determination of equivalence and issuance of equivalent certificate up to HSSC level for certificates other than those issued by Pakistan’s Boards is the jurisdiction of the Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) as per decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate shown marks with the application for admission issued by IBCC.The following are the addresses of the IBCC offices:

e) Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE)

   For the admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer,the candidate should have passed/appear in diploma 3rd year examination froma Board of Technical Education in the relevant technology Applicants holding a Diploma of Associate Engineer,DAE,can apply against their reserved seats in relevant technology only.Applicants for B.Sc Engineering programs may not apply other than “K” category.

   Applicants seeking admission against seats reserved for the holders of Diploma of Associate Engineer shall not be eligible unless their diploma are in the relevant technology as specified against each degree course given below.

   Applicant should have passed DAE examination from Board of Technical Education, obtaining at least 60% marks excluding Sports/Hafiz-e-Quran or any other grace marks.

Explanation:

A candidate having diploma in any other technology shall not be eligible for admission.

f) Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc.)

Applicants should have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical with additional mathematics) examinations with 60% marks.

   For admission in B.Sc. Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering and Engineering Technology programs & B.Sc. Computer Science, Applicants must have passed the B.Sc. examinations with Physics & Mathematics with 60% marks.

   For admission in B.Sc. Chemical Engineering;

  • Applicants who have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Engineering) they must have passed the B. Sc. examination with Chemistry securing60% marks.
  • Applicants who have passed F. Sc. (Pre-Medical with additional Mathematics) they must have passed B.Sc. with Mathematics & Chemistrysecuring 60% marks.

  Eligibility Criteria for BBA

a) Entry Test

   Entry test is not required for BBA.

b) Intermediate or Equivalent

   Applicants should have passed the minimum of twelve (12) years of education with first division in FA/F.Sc (Pre Engineering or Pre Medical)/I.Com/A-Level from Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or equivalent examination recognized by UET, Lahore.

   Those waiting for their results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A-level or equivalent result of Part-II with at least 60% marks is required within 15 days of declaration of intermediate resultsby respective boards.
